During school, Marie was active in taking part in school plays and extra-curricular drama classes. During these stage performances, Marie took on roles in James and the Giant Peach (as James), I Never Saw Another Butterfly, Pressure, Two Weeks with the Queen, Oliver! and Return To The Forbidden Planet.
In 2014, Marie studied at VCA, taking on the Masters of Screenwriting, and became ever vigilant to read more scripts and become a better screenwriter. She took up acting classes and trained in screen acting as well as improv.
Marie has appeared in online content for Priceless Productions, TVCs for Coles and Carlton & United Breweries, Goodall & Gallagher, I can't even..., Hactresses and various student short films from RMIT, SAE Institute, JMC Academy and VCA.
In 2017, Pirating A Film IRL, which Marie produced and performed a lead character in, won first prize at the inaugural UnScene Film Competition. The competition run by Village Cinemas and Open Channel awarded Marie's team $10,000 for future projects. You can watch Pirating A Film IRL here.
In that same year, a film produced by Marie, which she also performed in, Flicker, won the audience choice award at the Melbourne 48 Hour Film Project. You can watch Flicker here.
In 2019, Marie trained in Screen Acting Techniques through courses at NIDA Open in Southbank, Melbourne. Marie also participated in a sketch comedy group, Skit Happens, which involved writing and performing sketches in front of a live audience. This lead to Marie’s involvement with sketch comedy group, Dr Duck.
