As I won tickets earlier this year, this weekend I'm in Byron Bay for the annual writers festival. So far, the speakers and talks have been very interesting, and there has been patience and balance in the panel discussions.
The most interesting so far was held at the Rails in the centre of town. Called "My Most Controversial Thought", speakers were poet Miles Merrill, activist and writer Clementine Ford, and the creator of 'Hot Chicks with Big Brains' Bri Lee.
There were fantastic ideas and notions thrown in to the air, and since I've been looking into my thoughts and actions with a microscope. Specifically when it comes to supporting others and the ways in which we do that.
Tomorrow I'll be taking part in poetry workshops in order to improve my spoken word (slam) poetry skills.
